who is Mary?

The Roman Catholic denomination of Christianity makes a big deal of Mary who gave birth to the Messiah, sired by the Holy Spirit of God. 

According to the Bible, she was a typical young Jewish woman with nothing special about her.  She was in a platonic relationship with her husband, Joseph.  Satan knew the prophecies indicated the Messiah was about to be born, but he didn't know where or from whom He would be born.

The Roman Catholic teaching is Mary was super-special.  She had been sired by the Holy Spirit as well.  She was sinless like Jesus.  Satan would have painted a bullseye on her back from her birth!

Sister Mary is referred to as the mother of the church, the mother of God (the trinity), the queen of heaven, our mother, a refuge of sinners and an object of our prayers. This violates the first two of the Ten Commandments!

Jesus, as the eldest son, had to look after and honor his physical mother. But once He left this earth and went to heaven, this relationship was over.  Mary didn't always believe Jesus was the Messiah.  One time, Mary and his younger, unbelieving brothers came to take Jesus away from the crowds he was preaching to as the Messiah. (Matt. 12:47, Mark 3:32, Luke 8:20, John 19:27)  He rejected them. But Mary followed him around because He was her meal ticket.  He was obeying the fifth of the Ten Commandments, as a good Jewish man.  That changed when Jesus on the cross said, "It is finished."  He and those found in Him are no longer under the Mosaic law but the new law of faith.

Where did this fictional Mary come from?  The Roman Emperors had always brutally suppressed the Christians who didn't obey them when it came to worshipping their idols and demon gods. But the Christians had been taught by Jesus how to endure persecution.    Emperor Constantine tried persecution and found it didn't work.  So he tried a new direction.  He claimed to be a Christian and to have seen a vision.  He called the Christians out of hiding and gave them favors.  He resolved what Christian scripture would be approved of.  He organized a council of bishops at Nicea to hammer out a common creed.  The only problem - the Emperor wasn't a Christian!  His counselors were pagans all his life. They ordained all bishops by the laying on of pagan hands, demonizing them.

Through demonic inspiration, Mary was recast as Isis of the Egyptians and Etrurians.  Isis was called the queen of heaven. Jeremiah describes the Jews who had rebelled against God as making cakes to "the queen of heaven"  In Jeremiah 7:18: "The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger." In Jeremiah 44:17: "But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil."
